KtS Dance is run under the direction of Principal Mrs. Katy Atzberger ANATD LNATD BSc (hons) and currently offers classes in Ballet, Modern and Tap for children aged 3 years and upwards, in Mitcham, SW London.
With it’s enthusiastic and professional approach, the school caters for all ages and abilities, encouraging talent and technique for those wishing to follow a professional route whilst providing a fun, social opportunity for those who simply love to dance!
At KtS Dance we offer more than just a dance class!
We strive to offer classes that develop friendships as well as technique. Where children gain confidence, have fun and make memories that will last a lifetime.
The Saturday school currently offers classes in Ballet, Tap and Modern and Friday sessions offer Ballet classes for children aged 3 years upwards at St. Mark's Family Centre, Mitcham. We also run After-School clubs for local schools offering sessions in various styles including Street/Commercial/Popdance, Ballet, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.
Pupils follow the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD) syllabus and optional examinations are available for those wishing to move up the Grades as well as achieving Medals and Awards.
Free class work is inspired by the syllabi of the RAD, ISTD and methods such as Cecchetti and The Royal Ballet School as well as from our teachers’ extensive professional experience. Street and Disco routines are inspired by current trends in music and dance, providing children with a fun and energetic class.
Current pupils have successfully auditioned for the Junior Associate programme at the Royal Ballet School.
Parents will be invited to watch classes periodically and the school aims to provide as many performance opportunities as possible through fetes, shows and other local events, such as the Mitcham Carnival.
KtS Dance are currently planning their first full-scale production, "Dreams Come True" at a local theatre. (Unfortunately the date has been postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation but the show WILL go on!)
All KtS Dance teachers are fully qualified and DBS checked. Our teachers and choreographers are also available for schools and nurseries, wedding dance lessons, hen parties and birthdays.
We are a Dance Den Approved School committed to the development of of our pupils in a safe, ethical environment built on integrity and professionalism.
